For the trial
• A work email address. Sign-up uses a secure email sign-in link, so there is no password and no Microsoft account required.
• A modern web browser.
That's it. The trial opens a sample company pre-populated with demo data, is not connected to your Microsoft 365 tenant, and requires no admin approval and no installation.
When you add your company
When you are ready to connect your own Microsoft 365 data (click Add your company in the top bar of your trial), you will need:
• Administrator account: a Microsoft 365 / Entra ID Global Administrator or Application Administrator. Admin approval is required by Microsoft to allow secure, tenant-wide read access to user profile data.
• 10 to 15 minutes for the initial setup.
Important No changes, scripts, agents, or manual configuration are required in your Microsoft 365 or Entra ID environment. Everything is set up through the OneDirectory console. |
Why administrator access is required
Microsoft requires an administrator to approve tenant-wide access to user profile data. This is a one-time consent that establishes the secure, read-only connection. Permissions remain visible and revocable in the Entra admin center at any time.
