Searching for people in OneDirectory

Find colleagues fast by name, role, department, or skill, then filter, sort, and switch views.

Written by Greg Bennett

OneDirectory’s search does more than find people — it also surfaces matching offices, departments, job titles, skills, and interests, and lets you search either the directory or the org chart.

Run a search

  1. Click the search bar at the top of the directory.

  2. Type a name, job title, department, office, skill, or interest.

  3. Results appear instantly as you type, with the matching text highlighted.

Search always searches the directory

The search box at the top of the page always searches your whole directory, wherever you are. There are no longer Directory and Org Chart tabs to switch between.

To narrow down a chart you are looking at, use the find button in the org chart toolbar instead. See Finding people in an org chart.

What search finds

At the top of the results, OneDirectory groups matching entities — such as Job Titles, Offices, Departments, organizational units, and Skills, Hobbies & Interests — each with a count of how many people match. Click See more to expand a group, or click any entity to filter to everyone associated with it.

Below the entities, the people matching your search are listed.

Filter, group, sort, and switch views

On the results, use the sidebar filters and Group by / Sort by (including sort by Relevance) to organize people, and switch between List, Cards, and Faces views. Export the results with the Download link.

Tip: Searching a skill or office name? Click the matching entity at the top of the results to jump straight to everyone associated with it.
