How to add organizational unit images

Add an image or gradient background to a custom organizational unit in Directory Console → Structure.

Written by Greg Bennett

You can add an image to any custom organizational unit (such as a Division, Branch, or Business Unit) to make its page more visual. Images are set in the Directory Console.

Add an organizational unit image

  1. In your live directory, click Edit in Console in the top bar, next to your profile picture.

  2. In the Directory Console sidebar, open Structure, then select your organizational unit (for example, Divisions).

  3. Click the row of the unit you want to edit. A panel opens on the right.

  4. Use the image area at the top of the panel:

    • Drag and drop — drop an image file onto the area marked Drop a photo here, or click to choose.

    • Click to choose — click the area to pick a file from your device.

    • Get image from URL — paste the web address of an image.

    • Choose a background style — apply one of the built-in gradient backgrounds.

The image is applied immediately. Once one is set, Change photo and Remove appear over it so you can swap or clear it.

Note: Organizational units work the same way as offices and departments. The Edit in Console button is available to Administrators and Directory Editors.
