A directory is most useful when profiles are complete and people keep coming back. Here’s how to drive adoption and track progress.
Encourage complete profiles
Ask employees to add a photo, skills, and hobbies & interests (where you’ve made those editable). Richer profiles make search and discovery far more valuable.
Make it part of the flow
Pin OneDirectory in Microsoft 365 / Copilot.
Add it to your intranet with an automatic sign-in link.
Mention it during onboarding for new hires.
Measure success
Use Profile Completeness and the Profiles and Structure cards on the Console Overview to track photo and field coverage and watch your directory fill out over time. See Using the Directory Console Overview page.
Tip: Set a simple goal — for example, 90% of profiles with a photo — and check Profile Completeness over the first few weeks. |
