The Directory Editor role in OneDirectory offers a balance of editing capabilities without full administrative access.
Directory Editor Permissions
Directory Console access: Directory Editors can open the Directory Console from the live directory by clicking Edit in Console in the top bar, next to your profile picture.
Overview, People, and Structure only: Directory Editors see three sections of the Console. Overview for directory health and sync status, People to edit profiles and hide or show individuals, and Structure to build and modify offices, departments, and organizational units.
No configuration access: Unlike Administrators, Directory Editors cannot open Org Charts, Appearance, Data Sources, Fields, or Access. They can’t change how the directory is configured, only the content within it.
Profile editing: Directory Editors can edit other people’s profiles, for the fields that have been made editable in OneDirectory. This can be done in the Console under People, or directly on a profile in the live directory.
Collaboration: Directory Editors are ideal for team members who need to regularly update or maintain directory information without the need for deeper administrative functions.
The Directory Editor role is perfect for users who need to manage and update directory content while keeping the core settings secure and unchanged.
