The Directory Console is the admin area of OneDirectory, where you set up and manage your directory. It’s separate from the live employee directory your team uses every day.
Two areas, one product
The OneDirectory sidebar (live directory) — what all employees see and use: Everyone, Org Chart, Offices, Departments, Skills, A–Z.
The Directory Console — the admin backend where you build your directory and configure how it looks and works.
Getting to the Console
There are two ways in from the live directory:
Edit in Console — the button in the top bar, next to your profile picture. This is the quickest route when you’re browsing the directory and want to change something.
Directory Console — the link at the bottom of the OneDirectory sidebar. It opens the Console on the Overview page.
The Directory Console sidebar contains Overview, People, Structure (your Offices, Departments, and any custom organizational units), Org Charts, Appearance, Data Sources, Fields, Access, and a Back to OneDirectory link.
What you do here
Overview — your directory link, sync status, profile completeness, and the Profiles and Structure cards.
People — edit profiles, hide or show individuals, and correct profile types.
Structure — add, edit, and delete offices, departments, and custom organizational units.
Org Charts — create and manage your org charts, and the settings that apply to all of them.
Appearance — branding, profile, and display settings.
Data Sources — your Microsoft 365 connection, syncing, and filtering rules.
Fields — which fields exist, where their data comes from, and who can edit them.
Access — who is an Administrator or Directory Editor.
Note: Administrators see the whole Console. Directory Editors see Overview, People, and Structure only. End Users have no Console access. |
