Access to the Directory Console depends on your role, and some sections inside it are Administrator-only.
Who can open the Directory Console
Administrators and Directory Editors can open the Console from the live directory by clicking Edit in Console in the top bar, next to your profile picture. If you don’t see that button, your account is an End User and has no Console access.
What each role sees in the Console
Administrators — the whole Console: Overview, People, Structure, Org Charts, Appearance, Data Sources, Fields, and Access.
Directory Editors — Overview, People, and Structure only. Org Charts, Appearance, Data Sources, Fields, and Access are not available.
End Users — no Console access. End users can still edit their own profile in the directory, for the fields your administrator has made editable.
So if you can open the Console but can’t see Org Charts, Appearance, Data Sources, Fields, or Access, you’re a Directory Editor rather than an Administrator.
What to do
Ask one of your existing OneDirectory administrators to give you the role you need — see How to assign an Administrator or How to assign a Directory Editor. If no one in your organization has admin access, contact OneDirectory Support for help.
Note: If your only administrator has left the company, see How to transfer the OneDirectory admin. |
