Why can't I edit my profile (or only some fields)?

You can only edit fields your administrator has made editable for employees — if none are, you can't edit your profile.

Written by Greg Bennett

Whether you can edit your own profile — and which fields — depends on what your administrator has made editable for employees.

If you can't edit anything

If no fields have been made editable for employees, you won’t be able to edit your profile at all. An administrator controls this.

If you can edit only some fields

You can edit only the fields your administrator has made editable for employees. Any others are read-only — they’re either synced from Microsoft 365 or managed by your administrator.

For administrators

To let employees edit a field, make it editable in OneDirectory and set its edit permission to Employees — see Setting field edit permissions and Making a field editable.

Note: Synced (Microsoft 365) fields are always read-only in OneDirectory — they’re changed in Microsoft 365.
