Setting field edit permissions

Choose who can edit a OneDirectory-managed field — Directory Editors (all profiles) or Employees (their own profile).

Written by Greg Bennett

For fields managed in OneDirectory, choose who is allowed to edit them, under Edit Permissions in the field’s panel.

Open Fields

  1. In the OneDirectory sidebar (your live employee directory), click Directory Console at the bottom.

  2. In the Directory Console sidebar, select Fields.

Set who can edit a field

  1. Click the field to open its panel.

  2. Open the Edit Permissions dropdown.

  3. Choose an option: Directory Editors (can edit this field on all profiles; Administrators can too) or Employees (can edit this field only on their own profile).

Note: Letting employees edit a field requires that field’s data source to be OneDirectory — see Making a field editable.
