Org charts are built automatically from each employee's Manager field. You choose who each chart starts from, and OneDirectory draws everyone who reports up through them.
Open Org Charts
In the OneDirectory sidebar (your live employee directory), click Directory Console at the bottom, or click Edit in Console in the top bar.
In the Directory Console sidebar, select Org Charts.
Create your first chart
Click Add org chart, give it a name, search for the person it starts from, and click Add. For most organizations the first chart starts from the CEO and covers everyone.
You can create as many charts as you need. See How to create multiple org charts.
Org chart settings
The Settings tab, next to Org Charts, holds the settings that apply to every chart:
Enable org charts: turns the interactive charts on. Turning this off hides every org chart from the directory.
Default layout: Classic gives a flat, wide layout with all direct reports side by side. Compact saves space by grouping direct reports in a grid. Users can also adjust this in the chart itself.
Enable download: shows the Download button so users can export to PNG and SVG.
Click Save Org Chart Settings to apply.
Note: Employees without a Manager set will not appear in an org chart. Update the Manager field in Microsoft 365 and it syncs automatically. See Fixing org chart gaps. |
