If the wrong people are showing, or someone who should appear is missing, it’s usually a filtering rule or a manual hide.
Check these
Filtering rules. Guest accounts, service accounts, and domain rules can hide accounts automatically, and a real employee can be hidden if they’re mis-detected as a service account. Review your rules in Directory Console → Data Sources → Filtering Rules.
Manual hide or a manual override. Someone may have been set to No, always hide or Yes, always show in the Console, and either setting beats your filtering rules. Check Directory Console → People, click their row, then Manage.
The profile type. If a record is classified as a person, no service account or guest rule will touch it, and the reverse is also true. See How to change a profile type.
The Profiles card. On the Console Overview, this shows how many accounts are hidden by rules versus hidden manually.
Wrongly flagged as a service account?
If a real person is being hidden by the service account rule, you have two fixes:
Override it for that person. In Directory Console → People, click their row, open Manage, and set Show in directory to Yes, always show. They will appear even though the rule matches them.
Correct the record. Change the profile type from Service Account to Person, so the rule stops matching them at all. This is the better long-term fix.
If neither works, contact OneDirectory Support.
A whole group appeared at once
If it is not one person but a class of accounts, service accounts or guests showing up together when nothing changed on your side, that is a different problem. See Hidden accounts suddenly started appearing.
